Ход урока.

I.   Organizational moment. (Организационный момент. Беседа с классом,

психологический настрой на урок)                                                                                                                                      2

min

T: Good morning, girls! Sit down,

please. Glad to see you. How are you? You are going to have an unusual lesson.

We have a lot of guests. Let’s greet them.

Who is on duty today?

Who is absent?

That’s OK!

Tell us please, what’s the date today?

II. Introduction with the theme. (Введение в тему урока)                                                         3 min

Suppose you get out of your house on

an early sunny April sunny day and see … What is it? It is a yellow dandelion.

It looks at you from the ground and says “Protect me, please”. A great number

of people all over the world are taking part in the policy of controlling the

atmosphere, the water, the climatic changes, because of man’s interference in

nature. These problems are the subject of our meeting today.

III. Checking home work (Проверка домашнего

задания)                                                        5 min

T: Some of your classmates made short

retelling at home.

T: Thank you very much, …! Sit

down, please! It was very interesting to listen to you. You worked very hard.

Thank you very much.

IV.  Brainstorming. (Мозговой штурм)                                                                                       3 min

 Now look at the blackboard,

please and try to guess what are we going to speak?

1.      What associations do you have when

you see these pictures?

Key.: ecology, to protect the

environment, pollution, water, air, land, problems, rubbish, plants, animals,

danger, to throw litter, flora, fauna.

T: Right you are.

2.      Which environmental problems can you

name? What do you know about them?

Key: air pollution, water pollution,

ozone layer destruction, radiation, acid rains, trash.

V. Presentation of new words                                                                                                       5

min

But first, I

want to make sure you know the meaning of the words on the topic. Let’s do some

tasks to brush up our vocabulary.

 VI. Main part.

Reading (Чтение текста).                                                                                                              6 min.

I have prepared for you some texts.

Each group will get its own one. While reading you should use the scheme which

is called Fishbone. I’d like to remind you what it is. It’s a

special scheme that helps us to structure the text. The main problems are put

in the head, upper bones are used for reasons (why the problem exists), lower

bones are used for facts proving the existence of the reasons. Facts give the

problem clear outlines. Your notes should be short. Use key words, contractions

and exact details from the text. In the end you should come to the conclusion

(or find possible ways to solve the problem) and put it in its tail. You will

choose one representative from each group to announce the answers.

Text №1  (Приложение 1)

VII. Revision of grammar: Article “a,

4 min.

VIII. The end. Conclusion and marks.                                                                                             2 min

Ok, now you should share your opinions on the

theme.

     Reflexia

“Received the answer (!) or not (?)”

I’ll

appreciate all your answers.

The lesson is over. See

you later. Goodbye!

Приложение 1

Animals in danger

Perhaps the most famous rare animal is panda.

Twenty years ago it was nearly extinct. Now, its numbers are growing again. It

even became a symbol for wildlife conservation. But many other species have

been less lucky than the panda.

By the year 2030, 25% of all animals, birds,

fish and insects may be extinct. Why is this happening? Well, there are some

three main reasons. The first is pollution. Millions of animals die every year

because man has polluted their natural home or “habitat”. A habitat contains

everything a living thing needs: food, water, shelter, space, light.

The second reason is the environment itself. It

is becoming smaller. Every year man cuts down more trees, builds more roads and

uses more land for farming. In fact scientists believe that thirty British

animals, fish, birds may become extinct by the beginning of the 21st century.

Today, many more species are in danger not only

because man destroys and pollutes their habitat, but because man hunts them.

But many modern hunters don’t kill for food- they kill for profit. That’s why

so many rare and protected animals are still dying. Hunters like these are

called poachers. In 1981 there were 15,000 black rhinos in Africa. Today

because of illegal hunting, that number is 4,500.

There is only one way to save animals and wild

habitat-conservation. If it doesn’t happen, many wild animals will soon have

just one habitat-the Zoo.

How can we save our

biodiversity?

    We are

losing biodiversity all over the world: the variety of animals and birds,

plants and insects becomes less and less. Many species of flora and fauna are

in danger of extinction because of pollution, global warming, climate changes

and natural disasters. Looking into the problem, scientists say there are

different ways to save biodiversity. We can recycle rubbish and reduce danger

to our environment. We can use science and technology to reduce pollution. We

can control hunting animals.

   In future we

can use a new way to save the endangered species by cloning. In 1996 scientists

cloned a sheep. If we do nothing now, the problem of the endangered species

will become worse and worse and many species will soon become extinct as it has

already happened to a dodo [‘dәudәu] which we shall never see again.
